  • Trump has invited the entire Senate to the White House for a briefing on North Korea. [Link]
  • An inquest has started for the death of Terrill Thomas. Thomas’ death has been ruled a homicide by dehydration. Thomas was kept in a jail cell for several days without access to water. [Link]
  • The US begins deploying THAAD missiles in South Korea. The arrival of the system was met with some protesters who do not want the THAAD deployed in their country. [Link]
  • The Taliban attack a US base in Afghanistan. Four Afghani security guards were killed in the attack. [Link]
  • The Taliban carry out a series of attacks in North Afghanistan that killed eight Afghani security personnel working at checkpoints. The attack also gave the Taliban control over a key road. [Link]
  • Turkey carries out several airstrikes in Syria against US-backed Kurdish forces. 18 Kurdish fighters were killed, and a Kurdish radio station was destroyed. [Link]
  • In Yemen, a child under the age of five dies every ten minutes from preventable causes. [Link]
  • A US drone strike in Yemen kills seven people. Three of those killed are confirmed to be civilians. Four people traveling in a car were also killed and have been labeled as suspected al-Qaeda fighters. [Link]
