  • The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals rules against Trump’s travel ban. [Link]
  • Senate Democrats will join with Rand Paul in opposing a weapons sale to Saudi Arabia. The vote on the weapons sale could occur this week. [Link]
  • Alexei Navalny and over 1000 other protesters were arrested across Russia on Monday. Navalny is a protest organizer and was sentenced to spend 30 days in jail. [Link]
  • Qatar will begin shipping cargo through Oman to avoid the blockade imposed by Saudi Arabia and other countries. [Link]
  • The Israeli government is cutting the electricity to Gaza by 40% at the request of the leader of the Palestinian Authority. Leadership believes this move will help to reduce support for Hamas. Citizens of Gaza will have about 45 fewer minutes of electricity each day. Residents of Gaza already do not have electricity about 75% of the time. [Link]
  • A US and Afghani army convoy was attacked with a roadside bomb then ambushed by Taliban fighters. Three civilians were killed in the fighting. [Link]
  • Iraqi forces were able to repel an attack by ISIS on an area South of Mosul. An unknown number of civilians were killed in the fighting. [Link]
  • Bodies being dumped in government-controlled areas of Iraq suggest that Iraqi allied militias are carrying out extra-judicial killings. [Link]
  • The Syrian army was able to reach the Syria/Iraq border. [Link]
  • Oxfam says that one person in Yemen is dying of cholera every hour. [Link]
  • An al-Qaeda car bomb has killed at least 12 Yemeni government soldiers. [Link]
  • A Multination naval coalition is stepping up patrols around Yemen due to piracy. [Link]
  • Philippines President Duterte says he did not seek US support in the fight for Marawi. [Link]
