I'm swamped editing the book, but just a couple quick things about today's riot at the capitol: Biden did not steal 5 states. Trump lost. That's the deal. Trump's refusal to concede and long delay before telling people to go home today is a goddam disgrace. Still, the media claiming this was a coup and an insurrection is overblown. The few who broke in were no armed, organized militia. It was just amped-up mob members acting out. Not a justification, just real context. Scott interviews Kevin Gosztola about the breaking news that a British judge has denied the request to extradite Julian Assange from England to the United States. The prosecutors will appeal, says Gosztola, but this ruling opens the possibility that Assange could be released within a few days. RIP Tommy Raskin

Tommy Raskin, former intern for Antiwar.com and a former staffer at the National Friends Committee on Legislation died today. He was 25. No cause of death was given. Tommy was the son of Rep. Jamie Raskin, (D-MD), who announced Tommy’s death today. Tommy had been attending Harvard Law School During and after his Antiwar.com internship he was an occasional writer on our pages. Tommy wrote an article for The Libertarian Institute last week. Tommy was active in recent efforts to lobby congressional opposition to US support of the Saudi war on Yemen.
