  • Allison Eid was nominated by Trump to replace Neil Gorsuch on the Tenth Circut Court of Appeals. [Link]
  • Facebook filed for a patent for a program that will spy on Facebook users through their webcams. This would allow Facebook to determine in content made you happy or sad. Facebook will try to give you more content what makes you happy. [Link]
  • The military is asking Congress to vote to close military bases to save money. [Link]
  • The Senate moves forward with sanctions against Iran the day after Iran suffered a terror attack carried out by ISIS. [Link]
  • Ukraine makes it an official goal to join NATO. [Link]
  • Al-Shabaab carried out a raid on a government military base. Al-Shabaab killed 66 government soldiers and seized 16 vehicles in the raid. [Link]
  • Nine people were killed in four terrorist attacks in Nigeria. [Link]
  • Chad cut some diplomatic ties with Qatar. Djibouti released a statement saying the relationship with Qatar was being downgraded. Several Middle East countries recalled their citizens from Qatar. [Link] The UAE stopped all postal deliveries to Qatar. [Link]
  • Moon of Alabama argues that Qatar will be able to ignore pressure from Saudi Arabia and other nations. Saudi Arabia issued Qatar a list of demands. [Link]
  • Qatar vows to keep their foreign policy the same. Saudi Arabia has demanded Qatar change it’s foreign policy. [Link]
  • A string terror attacks in Kabul and increasing Afghani troop deaths are a sign that the US is losing the fight in Afghanistan. [Link]
  • Patrick Cockburn argues that ISIS losing Mosul and Raqqa will not end the organization’s ability to carry out attacks. [Link]
  • On Tuesday, the US carried out an airstrike in defense of Assad-allied forces near al-Tanf. This strike just occurred hours before the US carried out an airstrike on Assad-allied forces in the same area neat al-Tanf. [Link]

  • A drone fired an explosive that did not explode at the US base near al-Tanf. The drone was shot down by American aircraft. The US suspects that Assad-allied forces were in control of the drone. [Link]
  • Since April 27, 100,000 suspected cases of cholera have been reported. Nearly 800 people have died of cholera in this outbreak. [Link]
  • The death toll in Venezuelan protests has increased to 66. The most recent protester killed was 17 years old. [Link]
