  • Trump says the White House is keeping some positions empty to reduce the size of government. [Link]
  • An Ohio police officer, who was recorded beating a man, has a history of misconduct. [Link]
  • Nikki Haley said the US wants to inspect all of Iran’s military and non-military sites for violations of the P5+1 nuclear deal. Iran responded by saying Iran would not allow their military sites to be inspected. [Link]
  • The US has put itself in an unsolvable problem in Syria and Iraq. By helping to defeat the Islamic State, the US has allowed for Iran to have more influence in the region. [Link]
  • John Bolton has released his plan for the US to get out of the P5+1 nuclear deal with Iran. Bolton’s plan calls for the US to have a worldwide propaganda campaign against Iran to convince the world Iran is cheating on the deal. The agency tasked with enforcing the deal, the IAEA, has continued to report Iran is true to the deal. [Link]
  • The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for a terror attack in Russia that killed one police officer. [Link]
  • The US and Japan will push for a UN embargo on all oil going to North Korea. [Link]
  • South Korea responded to North Korea’s missile test by carrying out simulated strikes targeting the North Korean leadership. [Link]
  • Nikki Haley calls North Korea’s missile test “absolutely unacceptable and irresponsible.” She also said, “no country should have missiles flying over them.” [Link]
  • Trump criticizes North Korea’s missile test and says “all options are on the table” for dealing with North Korea. [Link]
  • Over 100 people have been killed by fighting in Myanmar. Fighting between the government and a militia recently broke out. [Link]
  • A NATO airstrike killed at least 16 civilians in Afghanistan. [Link]
  • At least five people have been killed in a suicide attack in Kabul, Afghanistan. The Taliban have claimed responsibility for the attack. [Link]
  • Iraqi Army soldiers are reporting extremely difficult fighting in the villages around Tel Afar. The ISIS fighters fled Tel Afar when Iraqi troops advanced on the city and are now fighting in the villages around the city. [Link]
  • White House Special Envoy Brett McGurk said Idlib Syria is the largest terrorist safe haven since 9/11. [Link]
  • US forces in Northern Syria have come under attack from Turkish backed Syrian Rebels. [Link]
  • The Houthis and former Yemeni President Salah agree to reaffirm their alliance after clashes between the groups left three dead. [Link]
