  • The Trump Administration wants a role in drafting the new AUMF bill. [Link]
  • The US Press Freedom Tracker will monitor the US government interference of journalists’ First Amendment rights. [Link]
  • The US test launches an ICBM as a show of force. [Link]
  • McMaster fired Rich Higgins from the National Security Council. Higgins was fired after he published a memo saying Islamists and globalists were working together to undermine Trump. [Link] McMaster also fired NCS member Ezra Choen-Watnick. [Link]
  • Trump said in that the weapons from the CIA program to arm Syrian rebel groups ended up in the hands of al-Qaeda. [Link]
  • Qatar signs a deal with Italy to buy seven warships for seven billion dollars. [Link]
  • Two US service members were killed in Afghanistan. A Taliban suicide attack killed the service members. [Link]
  • Doctors Without Borders has opened a small medical facility in Kunduz Afghanistan. The medical facility Kunduz since the US attacked a Doctors Without Borders hospital in Kunduz in 2015. [Link]

  • The voting machine company who provided the voting machines for the Venezuela election said the government did tamper with the results, but only by one million votes. The opposition claimed the government lied by four to five million votes. [Link]

On Foreign Policy Focus #74 I look at the crisis in Venezuela. The government is arresting political leaders as opposition protests continue. Several people have been killed in the latest protesting that started after Sunday’s election. I give a brief history of Venezuela and highlight important current events.
