American Police State

Lori Loughlin et al. posing for the camera: Mossimo Giannulli, Lori Loughlin | Donato Sardella/Getty Images for LACMALaurie Laughlin, the lady from Full House, and her husband, clothing designer Something Mossimo, are being prosecuted by the feds for bribing their kid’s way into USC.

She now says the feds are hiding exculpatory evidence showing she thought the half-million was the same kind of “donation” to colleges that rich people give to get their kids in all the time.

We should believe her and presume that the FBI and DoJ are guilty premeditated criminals unfairly persecuting her and her husband.

Just a few weeks ago the feds announced that they were adding decades worth of charges to this couple for having the temerity to plead not guilty. They are now facing 45 years in prison.

Remember Ruby Ridge, Waco, OKC, Richard Jewell, Khobar Towers, 300 fake terrorist entrapment cases, illegal spying, the false prosecution of the Bundy family. These are the same people who falsely accused the president of the United States of high treason with the Kremlin for three years — of all things. The FBI and DoJ lie about everything. They bear false witness against innocent people as a matter of course. It’s because they are dishonest, dishonorable people. They are not to be believed.

Somehow regular schmucks like us are supposed to be happy to see the government take down someone rich and famous. Yeah right. Some mid-level TV star sure makes for a great Judas goat to take the place of the think tank liars, generals, bailed-out bankers, their Fed, the spies, arms dealers, New York Times propagandists and the rest of the insider political class that has driven this country into the ground.

The lesson is that even millions of dollars are no protection from the lawless American totalitarian police state. None of us are safe.

(Mr. Mossimo, if you’re reading this, please bring back the Target black “Saul” skate shoes. Believe it or not, they were my favorite skate shoes ever.)

Update: You see? The Department of Justice does perjury all day. They are liars. They are criminals:

“The government originally alleged Mr. McGlashan [another one of the defendants] dropped the plan to falsely pitch his son to USC as a football kicker only after Mr. Singer tipped him off to the investigation. But prosecutors confirmed to his attorney, John Hueston, in a recent letter that Mr. Singer told investigators that Mr. McGlashan decided earlier that he would be ‘going through his own connections.'”

Disposable Heroes

When I was a boy Metallica was actually still a great band. I know that must sound unbelievable. Was there ever such a time?

Yes. This was back in junior high, long before the Black Album and Metallica’s dissent into the place of worst band in the history of the human race.

This one was a heavy influence on me then. First song on the second side of Master of Puppets. For the 2,440-or so Americans killed in the Afghanistan war so far: “Disposable Heroes.”

Rock out with your troops out.

Only American to lead FBI and CIA says Trump presents ‘dire threat’ to country

Of course he does. He’s a president of the U.S. government after all.

But man, either the National Security State has the dumbest PR department in history or Trump has the most brilliant one.

But he probably couldn’t really afford to pay them what it would cost for boosts like these.

Instead, they just don’t get it. We hate them because of all of those things that they did. That’s how he won in the first place, over their dead bodies.

So what do they do? They run on Status Quo Ante 2020!

At this rate they’ll lose to the president they impeached. What a bunch of losers.

NBC Tattle-Tales on Trump, Claiming He Wants Out of Afghanistan

Which they take at face value and also to be a horrible, cynical thing to do. Which, if it’s at all true, then it probably is for political reasons, but so what? Doesn’t that just mean that that’s what the American people — the right even — want to happen, and that he’d be carrying out their popular will? Heaven forfend.

“The Trump administration intends to announce the drawdown of about 4,000 troops from Afghanistan as early next week, according to three current and former U.S. officials. The withdrawal will leave between 8,000 and 9,000 U.S. troops in Afghanistan, the officials said. …

“‘This takes us to the minimum that you have to keep in the country to remain credible negotiating with the Taliban,’ the former official said. …

“His advisers have over the past three years convinced him not to pull the plug on the Afghanistan mission, but the president showed a willingness to take such a step in October when he abruptly pulled U.S. troops out of Syria.

“Trump had made clear to his advisers earlier this year that he wanted to withdraw all troops from Afghanistan by the November 2020 election.

“‘It’s all about talking points in 2020,’ the former official said.”

Yeah, just terrible, huh?
