On COI #339, Kyle Anzalone and Connor Freeman cover the war in Ukraine, Iran deal news, and Washington’s latest escalations against China.
Kyle discusses Elon Musk’s response to one of his Antiwar.com articles on Twitter. Musk is alarmed by NATO’s nuclear war exercises. These rehearsals for global annihilation are being carried out at a time when tensions between the U.S. and Russia have ratcheted arguably higher than the Cuban Missile Crisis. Kyle also talks about problems with a potential renewal of the Ukraine grain export deal, the global food crisis, and how sanctions are still preventing the export of Russian fertilizer.
Connor details the allegations against Tehran regarding their supposed provision of kamikaze drones to Moscow for use in the Ukraine war. The EU and the British have sanctioned Iran this week over these accusations, though definitive evidence has not yet been provided. Russia is against the UN investigating the drones being used in Ukraine and has suspicions about the legitimacy of such a mission. The State Department also said that the Iran deal is not their “focus” and it will not be restored indefinitely.
Connor closes with some news on America’s increasingly provocative Taiwan policy. The Senate’s version of the National Defense Authorization Act includes a bipartisan amendment to provide Taipei with $10 billion in military aid over just five years.
