Local police have called to maintain a security barrier circling the Capitol until September, citing “threats” against lawmakers, while some Democrats have already suggested it stay up permanently. Meanwhile, at least 35 Capitol police officers are under investigation for their actions during the January 6 riot, six of them already suspended.
