US Central Command (CENTCOM) reports three US soldiers were killed over the weekend.
According to CENTCOM, two soldiers were killed by an Iranian missile strike in Jordan, and a third is missing. Additionally, a third US soldier was killed in Iraq during the detonation of a downed Iranian drone. At least 16 American soldiers have died since the US and Israel attacked Iran in February. Over 400 troops have suffered injuries.
On Sunday, President Donald Trump said the deaths were “a very sad thing.” While Secretary of War Pete Hegseth posted on X that the deaths would “stiffen” the US resolve.
After the ceasefire collapsed last week, the US began attacking Iranian infrastructure. Tehran has responded with strikes on US bases throughout the region. Iran has also targeted the infrastructure of US allies in the region, claiming the IRGC inflicted “heavy blows.”
Kuwait’s Defense Ministry says Iran “continues to target civilian and vital facilities in the country” and has caused fires and “severe damage” to facilities.
On Saturday, the US bombed the Darkhovin nuclear power plant site in Iran. The international nuclear watchdog said the plant was still under construction and that there was no nuclear material at the site during its last inspection.
