According to the Gaza Media Ministry, Israel has continued regular attacks in Gaza since the ceasefire ended last month. The Israeli attacks killed at least 242 Palestinians.
On Thursday, the Gaza media office slammed Israel for “blatant and systematic” violations of the truce. The agency has recorded at least 242 Palestinians killed by Israel and over 600 injured since the ceasefire took effect on October 10. The Gaza Health Ministry reports a high death toll during that period, 260.
“We condemn in the strongest terms these repeated acts of aggression and hold the Israeli occupation fully responsible for their humanitarian and security repercussions,” its statement said. “We emphasise that their continuation constitutes a clear threat to the spirit of the agreement and a violation of the occupation’s obligations to the international community and the guarantor states.”
Israeli forces in Gaza have killed Palestinians nearly every day in the past month. While the number of Israeli strikes and dead Palestinians is down significantly from September, Gaza remains under consistent assault.
Israel has alleged that Hamas has violated the truce twice by attacking Israeli soldiers. One of those claims was quickly debunked. Still, Israel used both allegations to conduct massive strikes on Gaza. On October 29, Israeli attacks killed over 50 children.
The ceasefire and hostage exchange deal was reached when President Donald Trump promised to make Israel abide by the agreement. The Gaza Media Ministry appealed to the US leader to fulfill his commitment.
The statement from the office said, “US President Donald Trump, the guarantor states, and the mediators to assume their responsibilities and exert real pressure on the occupation force to compel it to immediately cease its violations and respect its signed commitments.”
Additionally, Tel Aviv is violating the deal by restricting aid deliveries to Gaza. UNICEF says Israel is blocking the delivery of syringes to the Strip, halting a major child vaccination campaign.
