Israeli strikes hit near a field hospital in Gaza, killing five Palestinians. The bombs hit a tent camp, causing fires.
A spokesman for the Gaza civil defense force said, “Five citizens, including two children, killed and others injured, some seriously, as a result of an Israeli missile strike.” They added that the strike hit near the Kuwaiti Field Hospital in Khan Yunis.
Footage of the aftermath of the strike shows tents ablaze. Most Palestinians in Gaza are displaced as Israel destroyed their homes. Many people have crammed into overcrowded tent cities.
The strikes were the latest Israeli violations of the ceasefire brokered by President Donald Trump. Israel has attacked Gaza hundreds of times during the truce, killing 360 people and wounding nearly 1,000.
Israel claimed it attacked the tent city in response to Hamas violating the ceasefire. The IDF claimed its soldiers engaged with Hamas in Rafah after several fighters emerged from a tunnel. The Israeli military reported four IDF soldiers were injured.
