Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene said she was resigning from her seat. MTG explained she would leave office early next year.
“I’ve always represented the common American man and woman as a member of the House of Representatives which is why I’ve always been despised in Washington DC and never fit in,” she wrote in her resignation letter. “Americans are used by the Political Industrial Complex of both Political Parties, election cycle after election cycle, in order to elect whichever side can convince Americans to hate the other side more.”
MTG was elected to Congress for the first time in 2020, running on a platform of strong support for Trump’s America First ideas. She remained committed to President Donald Trump even after he alleged that the 2020 election was stolen, and the January 6, 2021, riot at the Capitol.
However, the Congresswoman began to split with Trump earlier this year. She emerged as one of the most vocal critics of the President’s foreign policy and led the charge for Congress to pass a bill that orders the release of files related to Jeffrey Epstein.
MTG’s statement explained, “Through it all, I never changed or went back on my campaign promises and only disagreed in a [with Trump] few areas like my stance against H1-Bs replacing American jobs, Al state moratoriums, debt for life 50 year mortgage scams, standing strongly against all involvement in foreign wars, and demanding the release of the Epstein files.”
The Congresswoman has come under fire from the President for her positions on Israel and Epstein, leading to attacks from Trump and money flowing into a campaign to unseat her. MTG denied that her resignation was to prepare to run for President in 2028.
Her exit from the Capitol will remove one of the few GOP voices critical of America’s Middle East policy.
The Congresswoman is one of the few Representatives to say Israel is committing a genocide. “It’s the most truthful and easiest thing to say that Oct 7th in Israel was horrific and all hostages must be returned, but so is the genocide, humanitarian crisis, and starvation happening in Gaza,” she wrote on X in July.
I remember the first time I met Randy Fine when he was a candidate before he barely won Florida’s deep red 6th district seat, as we were being told he might actually lose the seat because the strong Trump district couldn’t relate to him and didn’t like him.

Last month, she slammed an Israeli violation of the ceasefire brokered by Trump in Gaza. “Israel’s military said Wednesday that the ceasefire was back on in Gaza after it killed 104 people, including 46 children, according to local health officials,” she wrote. “46 CHILDREN!!! Are these not war crimes?”

“The new leader of Syria is a former Al Qaeda terrorist wanted by our government who is meeting with President Trump today at the White House on the US Marine’s 250th anniversary,” she wrote. “He rose to power in December 2024, sanctions were lifted off Syria in June, and many Christians and minority groups have been killed before and after sanctions were lifted.”
Her post includes a State Department wanted poster for Julani.
