From Data for Progress

A new survey found Americans want President Donald Trump to prioritize more aid getting into Gaza over sending more Americans to Israel. Since taking office, Trump has authorized billions in arms transfers to Israel, and aid deliveries into Gaza have plummeted.

According to a poll conducted by Data for Progress, 64% of Americans said “Trump should demand that Israel let food and medical supplies into Gaza,” compared to just 26% who responded, “Trump should support Israel in carrying out its military strategies against Hamas.”

Palestinians in Gaza are facing a humanitarian crisis caused by the US-backed Israeli blockade. At least tens of thousands of Palestinians have been killed by the Israeli military. Includes over 1,400 civilians attempting to reach US-funded aid distribution sites.

Data for Progress also reported that a plurality of Americans believe Israel is conducting a genocide. Overall 47% said they believe Israel is committing a genocide, including two-thirds of Democrats and three-in-ten Republicans. Only 33% of Americans said Israel was not committing genocide.

The number of Americans viewing Israel’s onslaught in Gaza has ticked up each time Data for Progress has asked the question.
