President Donald Trump is demanding that Tehran make payments to Washington for Iranian aggression against the US for several decades. 

“Now I am likewise demanding compensation from Iran, for all of the people that they have killed and gravely wounded with their roadside bombs and many conflicts, including the families of those killed on the USS Cole, and thousands of others killed in combat,” the President wrote on Truth Social Monday. “Additionally, compensation should be paid to the families of the hundreds of thousands of innocent protestors that Iran has killed over the last 50 years, not to mention the 52,000 that have been killed in the last five months.” 

The USS Cole was bombed by Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula. Jihadist movements, such as al-Qaeda, are enemies of the Shia government of Iran. Additionally, many of the Iranians killed over the past five months were killed by US and Israeli airstrikes. 

He continued, “I have instructed my representatives to put this firmly into any, and all, future negotiations.”

In a second post, he added, “Also, with respect to the Iran negotiations, Iran should be responsible for the damages and death caused to the people of Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and Gaza!” Most of the war damage in those countries was caused by the US, Israel, or Washington’s allies. 

The President claims the idea of war reparations was recently proposed by Iran.

“I see that Representatives of the Islamic Republic of Iran are asking for compensation for the damage done to them during the last five month Military Conflict,” the President wrote on Truth Social Monday. “Even though it was never mentioned in any of our negotiations or meetings!”

However, Tehran has consistently demanded war reparations from the US and Israel since the start of the agreement. The Memorandum of Understanding signed by Trump committed US allies in the region to investing hundreds of billions of dollars in Iran as a form of war reparations.
