Trump: The Houthis Are Behaving Very Badly

President Donald Trump accused Ansar Allah, also known as the Houthis, of “behaving very badly” as the group continues its war against Saudi Arabia, striking the kingdom’s energy infrastructure and airports.

“The Houthis are behaving very badly,” the President wrote on Truth Social Tuesday. The war between Ansar Allah and Saudi Arabia reignited after Riyadh broke a four-year ceasefire in July. Last month, Ansar Allah launched a major offensive and seized Yemen’s Red Sea coastline from Saudi-backed forces.

The conflict has further escalated over the past week as Saudi Arabia and Ansar Allah have traded strikes targeting cities. Over the weekend, Ansar Allah struck Riyadh’s international airport, killing at least 13 people and injuring hundreds.

In his post, Trump referred to fighting between the US and Ansar Allah last year, which the President portrayed as an American victory. “I thought they learned their lesson a year ago when we bombed the HELL out of them and, at their request, stopped.”

Trump ordered strikes on Ansar Allah in March 2025 in response to the group’s blockade of Israeli shipping. The US conducted a major, weeks-long bombing campaign in Yemen. After Ansar Allah nearly hit a US aircraft carrier, the two sides agreed to a ceasefire that notably did not include lifting the blockade against Israel.

The President went on to claim that Ansar Allah was likely striking Saudi Arabia at the direction of Iran. “They’ve been silent for a long time, but now they’ve emerged again, probably at the behest of Iran.” He continued, “In a very nasty way, hitting Saudi Arabia, and purposefully trying to drive up Oil Prices, probably prior to the U.S. Elections — NOT NICE.”

However, Ansar Allah did not come to Iran’s defense after the US and Israel attacked the Islamic Republic in February. Ansar Allah only began attacking Saudi Arabia and the kingdom’s allies in Yemen after Riyadh attacked the Sanaa airport in July.

The President concluded his post by suggesting he could restart the war against Ansar Allah after the midterm election. “Somebody should explain to them that I’m not running in the Elections, I’ve already won, IN A MASSIVE LANDSLIDE, but I’ll be there after the Elections, and I will never forget!” he added.
