Martha Mundy, a professor of anthropology at the London School of Economics and author of Governing Property, Making the Modern State: Law, Administration and Production in Ottoman Syria, discusses how decades of neoliberal/IMF/World Bank economic policy degraded Yemen’s agricultural production, making the country especially vulnerable to famine from the Saudi-led blockade and bombing campaign – which are clearly war crimes.
