What Is Coronavirus Doing to the US Military guest WIll Porter

Will Porter returns to Foreign Policy Focus to discuss how the US military is being impacted by the coronavirus. Will explains that several DoD personnel have now tested positive and many soldiers are in quarantine. The Pentagon has scaled back some games, although others have been able to continue. The close quarters' soldiers live in - especially on ships - makes it likely the coronavirus will spread quickly. However, this has not prevented hawks in the Trump administration from pushing war with Iran.

Year Zero 101: A Direct Republic with Donnie Gebert

Donnie Gebert of the Direct Republic podcast and author of The Null Hypothesis of Politics joined Tommy for episode 101. Donnie's idea of a Direct Republic, decentralization down to the individual, was thought up within a mind trained and educated by the DOD to topple governments through peaceful revolution. When Donnie realized the enemy was domestic and not abroad he put his education to work at home.

America, F*ck Yeah!

CIA's former(?) "moderate" jihadist terrorists blast DoD's Kurdish YPG friends with U.S. TOW missile. https://twitter.com/CalibreObscura/status/1190711269197799425 You had better take your hat off and put it over your heart when we all sing government's special song at the next ballgame, boy, or else!

Angie Dodge’s Real Killer Found

Our friend and colleague, the late-great Will Grigg, had long championed the falsely convicted Chris Tapp in the case of the murder of Angie Dodge in 1996. Tapp was finally released in 2017 with the help of the victim's mother Carol. This case was featured on 48 Hours or one of those a couple of weeks ago. Well -- at least the cops now claim -- DNA from the crime scene was traced to the real killer, who has now confessed to the murder. Will was right of course. And the cops, prosecutors, judges and jurors who conspired to steal Mr. Tapp's life away -- and in fact abetting the real...

FPF #210 – Afghan Ceasefire & The Space Force

On FPF #210, I discuss a brief ceasefire in Afghanistan. The ceasefire held for three days at the end of the Islamic holy month. After the ceasefire expired, fighting resumed with the Taliban killing as many as 50 Afghan soldiers.  I address the massive Department of Defense. The DoD will grow as Trump announced the creation of the Space Force. Amazon is a front-runner for getting a $10 billion contract to provide cloud services to the Pentagon. The Pentagon has expanded and is carrying out more offensives in cyber warfare.  Links FPF #209 - Killing Yemen FPF #207 - Understanding Colombia...

Study: Pentagon Wasted $28 Million on the Wrong Kind of Camouflage

The Pentagon overspent between $26 and $28 million on useless camouflage for the Afghan National Army (ANA), a government watchdog study found. Conducted by the Special Investigator General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR), the study not only found that between November 2008 and January 2017 the Defense Department purchased uniforms for the ANA without ensuring the suitability of the camouflage pattern for Afghan environs, but also overpaid for a proprietary pattern over more cost-effective options. According to the study, the pattern chosen for the ANA uniforms may actually put...

Substantive Due Process
