US News

  • On March 22, the FBI raided US Private Vaults. The search warrant forbade the FBI from seizing safe deposit boxes, however, the FBI seized over 300 boxes. The FBI then filed civil asset claims for the belongings in the boxes, totaling $85 million. The FBI is demanding that anyone who would like their property back has to publicly identify themselves as the owner. [Link]
  • A confidential informant told Texas police Lucil Basco was dealing meth. Police surveilled Mrs. Basco and pulled her over. Police then raided her home. When police realized they were in the wrong home, they continued to search anyway. A judge has denied the officers qualified immunity. [Link]
  • Two whistleblowers came forward claiming the children housed at Fort Bliss are being abused and neglected. They claim the children are without clothing like socks and underwear. The whistleblowers report outbreaks of lice and that they were instructed to downplay the outbreak of covid. [Link]
  • Biden announced new sanctions against Cuba’s police force and threatens more sanctions in the future. [Link]

China

  • The New York Times claims China is building 100 nuclear missile silos. [Link]
  • Secretary of State Antony Blinken will meet with officials from several southeast Asian nations in the coming days. [Link]

Australia 

  • Australia’s Army is assisting in enforcing the Covid lockdown. [Link]

Afghanistan 

  • The State Department is offering visas to Afghans who worked for the US or some NGOs. The total Afghans seeking to resettle in the US could be as high as 50,000. [Link]
  • Three Taliban rockets hit the Kandahar Airport. [Link]

Middle East

  • The US approved a $3.4 billion weapons sale to Israel. The sale includes 18 Lockheed Martin-made CH-53K heavy-lift helicopters. [Link]
  • The Afghan Air Force bombed a hospital in Helmand. Sources say the bombing was intentional and the Afghan government believes the hospital treated Taliban fighters. [Link]
  • An Israeli-owned ship was attacked off the coast of Oman, killing two crew members. Israel claims Iran was behind the attack. The US, UK, and Israel say Iran is behind the attack. [Link]
  • The US doubts it will return to the Iran Nuclear Deal. [Link]

Nigeria

  • Fifteen Nigerian soldiers were killed by militants. [Link]
