  • The Senate Foreign Services Committee voted 18-14 to advance a bill that abolishes the 1991 and 2002 AUMFs. [Link]
  • Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin will announce all active-duty soldiers must get the covid vaccine on Friday. [Link]
  • The Navy identified sailor Ryan Mays as starting the fire on the USS Bonhomme Richard. The Navy sold the ship for scrap because repairs were too expensive. [Link]

China

  • Biden will sign an 18-month deferral of removal order for Hong Kongers living in the US. [Link]

  • The UK reported a hijacking in the Persian Gulf. The incident is now over. Reuters reported Iranians boarded the ship and removed something. [Link]
  • A US military report says ISIS could operate in the Syrian desert indefinitely. [Link]
