  • The Biden administration lost track of 33% of migrant children that came to the border unaccompanied and released in the US. [Link]
  • Biden orders the release of more information about the investigation into 9/11 over the next six months. 9/11 families have been demanding Biden release more information as they attempt to hold Saudi Arabia accountable for the attack. [Link]
  • The US says five sailors are dead after their helicopter crashed off the coast of San Diego. [Link]

Afghanistan

  • The Hill reports over 1,000 Afghan commandos left Afghanistan through a secret CIA base outside of the Kabul airport. [Link]

  • The leader of the last major holdouts to the Taliban calls for talks after a week of fighting. [Link]

  • Israel says six Palestinians escaped from prison through a tunnel. [Link]
  • Iran’s President says his country will not engage in nuclear talks because of Western pressure. [Link]
  • Ten Iraqi police were killed by an ISIS attack near Kirkuk. [Link]
  • Fighting resumed in Daraa, Syria after a third ceasefire agreement between the government and rebels collapsed. [Link]
  • The BBC investigative complaints unit found that the network’s report on the alleged chemical weapons attack in Douma did not meet the network’s editorial standards. [Link]
  • Saudi airstrikes in Yemen killed 17 Houthi fighters. [Link]

Africa

  • Sudan claims a plane from Ethiopia had 72 boxes of night vision goggles and rifles in the cargo. Ethiopia says there is nothing illegal about the weapons and Sudan accused Ethiopia of attempting to assist the opposition. [Link]
  • Soldiers captured Guinea’s President Alpha Conde in a coup. [Link]
  • Nigerians report cell phone service in some areas was shut down by the government while it carried out operations against kidnappers. [Link]
