Afghanistan 

  • The Taliban claim the US agreed to provide humanitarian aid to poor Afghans. The US did not confirm this agreement was made. [Link]

Middle East

  • Iran says when Iran nuclear deal talks resume the focus will be on verifying US sanctions are removed. [Link]
  • An Iranian general was kidnapped by Israel in Damascus. After being questioned, Israel dropped him on the street in South Africa. [Link]
  • Israel fired missiles at a Syrian airbase, killing two soldiers. [Link]
  • Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett says Israel will never return the Golan Heights territory that was seized from Syria in 1967. [Link] 
  • A car bomb killed four in Afrin, Syria. [Link]
  • Voter turnout in Iraq’s elections was a record low of 25%. [Link]
