Jeb Bush Calls for Constitutional Convention

by | Nov 25, 2016

In the Wall St. Journal.

According to the Birchers, there are already currently 27 states with “live” applications for a so-called con-con as it is. Seven more would be enough to allow the special interests which control this country already to “run away” and change the constitution however they wish.

This must be opposed at all costs. The entire form of the government could change for the worse — governors appointed by the feds for example. And the entire Bill of Rights is at stake; Article One, Section Nine, everything…

Any question that this could amount to a net benefit for liberty can be answered with a moment’s thought: Will Ron Paul be the President and every member of the convention? No? Okay then.

“Americans, by wide majorities, agree that Washington is broken, so let’s send power back to the people and back to the states. Republicans should support convening a constitutional convention to pass term limits, a balanced-budget amendment and restraints on the Commerce Clause, which has given the federal government far more regulatory power than the Founders intended.”

Yeah nice promise George Bush’s son and brother. Just watch the right line up behind this treachery too. “I heard they’re going to rewrite the constitution to limit the government’s power!”
