  • Trump’s Deputy National Security Advisor, KT McFarland, writes an article for Fox News and calls for Wikileaks to be labeled a terrorist organization. In the article, she says Wikileaks should be shut down. She also wants to try Julian Assange and Chelsea Manning for treason and believes both should be executed if convicted. [Link]
  • The leader of the Islamic State cell that attacked Kirkuk said he lead the cell for money and not religious reasons. [Link]
  • Iraqi Officials report the invasion of Tel Afar will begin immediately. ISIS currently controls the city and a group of Sunni and Shi’ite militias will attempt to liberate the city. Taking the city could prevent ISIS from being able to resupply Iraq from Syria. [Link]

  • Syrian government forces are making progress in their attempt to retake East Aleppo from Syrian rebels. Syria government forces have broken through the rebels front lines. [Link]

  • A car bomb attack in Somalia’s capital city kills 11. [Link]
  • In Yemen, hospital staff are being terrorized by anti-Houthi forces. [Link]
  • The “Yemen Files” released by Wikileaks show how the US supplied military equipment to Yemen. [Link]
