  • The 2019 NDAA removes funding for the Open Skies Treaty. The treaty allows member nations to conduct unarmed surveillance missions in each others airspace. Russia expressed their disappointment the US was withdrawing from the treaty. [Link]
  • In Trump’s signing statement for the 2019 NDAA, Trump says he will not follow the provisions limiting the US role in Yemen and that create a post at the White House to monitor Russian election meddling. [Link]
  • Venezuela arrests a National Guard general in connection with the alleged assassination attempt against Maduro. [Link]
  • The UN estimates that 2.3 million Venezuelans have fled their country. [Link]
