  • Nancy Pelosi was re-elected Speaker of the House. 13 Democrats voted against her. [Link]
  • Russia says US citizen Paul Whelan has been given consular access. [Link]
  • Two Afghan soldiers fired on NATO forces. No NATO forces were injured in the attack. [Link]
  • The US is blocking Israel from selling used American made F-16s to Croatia. Since buying the F-16s years ago, the Israelis have upgraded the F-16s several times. The US is demanding Israel strip the upgrades from the planes before the sale. Croatia is pushing Israel to sell the upgraded F-16s. [Link]
  • The Taliban destroy an Afghan Army outpost and kill five soldiers. [Link]
  • The Iraqi Foreign Minister says Iraq does not have to obey US sanctions on Iran. [Link]

  • The Congo Ebola outbreak has reached 600 cases and 368 deaths. [Link]
  • Protesters in Sudan continue to demand the country’s leader step down. The Sudanese government is using lethal force in an attempt to suppress the protests. [Link]
