US News

  • YouTube will demonetize videos that promote ‘anti-vax’ views. [Link]
  • YouTube deletes 400 channels with pedophilic comments posted by other people on the videos. [Link]
  • Microsoft employees publish an open letter to the company condemning a contract to sell HoloLens to the Pentagon. [Link]  
  • A federal judge rules only males being forced to register for the draft is unconstitutional. [Link]

Venezuela

  • Senator Marco Rubio tweets a disturbing picture of Gaddafi as a threat to Maduro. [Link]
  • Maduro allows US diplomats to remain in Venezuela for another 30 days. [Link]  
  • Maduro closed the country’s border with Brazil. [Link]
  • On Saturday, aid from Brazil and the US attempted to cross into Venezuela against the demands of the Venezuelan government. Clashes between protesters and Venezuela border patrol broke out as the protesters were attempted to destroy roadblocks to allow the aid into the country. Border patrol used tear gas and aid trucks were set on fire. Two people were killed and up to 300 injured. [Link]

  • Yellow Vest protests continue in France for the 15th week. [Link]

North Korea

  • North Korea asks for food aid. [Link]
  • Kim Jong-un said he does not want his children to bear the burden of nuclear weapons. [Link]

Middle East

  • Turkey severely limited their air force by dismissing 300 F-16 pilots after the 2016 coup. [Link]
  • Khaled bin Salman has been named the Saudi deputy defense minister. [Link]
  • The Trump Administration has been unable to rally allies against Iran. [Link] They are now pushing the lie that Iran supports al-Qaeda. [Link]
  • The IAEA remains committed to the nuclear agreement. [Link]
  • The Washington Post reports the US is keeping troops in Syria because Syrian Kurds are threatening to release ISIS fighters. [Link] The Syrian Kurds back the US decision to keep 200 troops in Syria. The Kurds say US troops and air support are critical to their protection. [Link]
  • The Yemeni government seizes a training camp from AQAP. [Link]
