  • Peru’s former president has been attested in the US and is facing extradition back to Peru. Peru alleges, the former leader is guilty of corruption. [Link]

IAEA

  • The IAEA head announces he will step down in March due to illness. [Link]

Russia

  • Russia will continue to hold the Ukrainian soldiers captured in the Sea of Azov incident for at least three more months. [Link]

Middle East

  • The Afghan Army carries out a raid in an attempt to capture a Taliban leader. 18 Afghan soldiers were killed in the attack. [Link]

  • The WHO has labeled the Ebola outbreak in the Congo as an international emergency. The agency reports a man died of Ebola after visiting a crowded market in Uganda. [Link]
