US News

Nicaragua

  • Humanitarian groups overreported the number of deaths during Nicaraguan protests. [Link]

Hong Kong

  • Protests in Hong Kong became more violent as police clashed with protesters. Over 50 protesters were arrested and 21 police injured. [Link]

Middle East 

  • An unnamed Taliban commander says the fight against the Afghan government will continue if a deal is made with the US. [Link]
  • Iran says it has sold the oil from its supertanker, formerly the Grace 1. [Link]
  • Turkey accepts its second S-400 missile defense system from Russia. [Link]
  • The US named a military base in Syria after Castle Black. [Link]
  • Yemen’s southern separatists declare a ceasefire in the fight against the Saudi backed government. [Link]

Israel

  • Hezbollah claims an Israeli drone targeted one of its buildings in Beirut. A Palestinian group says an Israeli airstrike hit one of their buildings in Lebanon the next day. [Link]
  • Israel bombed what it claimed were Iranian drone bases in Syria. [Link]
  • Iraqi PMF reports an Israeli airstrike killed one of its soldiers. [Link]
