US News

  • The FBI is investigating a Ghislaine Maxwell, a British woman who worked with Jeffery Epistine trafficking young women and children. [Link]
  • Navy SEALs say they witnessed Eddie Gallagher murder a man and shoot at a child. Trump granted Gallagher clemency and restored his rank. [Link]
  • The Army awarded a $16.5 million contract to Robotics Research to provide the Army with a boot worn GPS tracker. [Link]

UN

  • Wikileaks releases more documents about the Douma OPCW report. The new documents show the OPCW working to scrub information that was not evidence of Assad carrying out a chemical weapons attack. [Link]
  • UN Peacekeepers in Haiti committed widespread sexual abuse and fathered many children that were abandoned when the peacekeeper was returned to his home country. [Link]

Russia

  • Russia deploys its hypersonic nuclear-capable missile for the first time. [Link]
  • Putin thanks the US for information that helped prevent a terror attack in Russia. [Link]
  • Ukraine and Russian-backed separatists engage in a prisoner swap. France and Germany say it is a good step. [Link]

Iraq

  • An Iraqi base that house US forces was struck with rockets. A US contractor was killed and a US soldier was wounded. [Link]
  • The US bombs three bases of the Iranian-backed Shia militia, Kataib Hezbollah. The US accused this group of a rocket attack on an Iraqi base that killed a US contractor. [Link]
  • The US said the strikes against the militia were successful. At least 25 people were killed across the three attacks and the US warned more attacks could come. [Link]
  • Protesters in Iraq shut down an oilfield that produces 90,000 bpd. [Link]

Yemen

  • Three recent Saudi airstrikes in Yemen killed at least 17 civilians. [Link]
  • A Houthi missile strike killed six people at a Yemeni government military parade. [Link]

Africa

  • Over 90 people were killed by a truck bomb in Mogadishu. So far, no one has claimed to be behind the attack. [Link]
  • Turkey is starting to move rebels from Syria to Libya. In Syria, they were the Turkish backed rebels that ethnically cleansed Kurdish regions of Syria. In Libya, they will be used against Haftar in support of the UN-recognized government. [Link]
  • Militants in Burkina Faso carried out an attack killing at least seven soldiers. As the militants were withdrawing they killed 35 civilians, 31 of them were women. Up to 80 of the militants were killed. [Link]
  • Drones are increasingly being used in the Libyan War. The UN-recognized government is using drones provided by Turkey. Haftar is backed by Chinese made drones operated by the UAE. [Link]
  • Turkey is looking to accelerate the deployment of forces to Libya. [Link]
  • Islamic State militants kill 11 Christians in Nigeria. [Link]
