The Best Short Introduction to the Constitution

by | Feb 3, 2020

Tom Woods called my new book, Constitution – Owner’s Manual: The Real Constitution the Politicians Don’t Want You to Know About, “the best short introduction to the real Constitution, as opposed to the one taught in law school and the New York Times.”

Tom was kind enough to have me on his show last week to talk about the book. You can listen to the interview here.
And yes, I am a little biased, but I don’t think this book could have come out at a better time — as we approach the next “most important election of our lifetime.”

The original U.S. Constitution lays encased in glass inside the National Archives building in Washington D.C.

It’s time to break the glass, take the Constitution out, and use it.

But before we can effectively operate our founding document, we need to understand what it actually says and means.

This book is the instruction manual.

For far too long, judges, politicians and the chattering political class have “interpreted” the Constitution for you. The result: an ever-expanding federal government that noses its way into every nook and cranny of your life.

It wasn’t supposed to be this way.

It’s your Constitution. And it’s imperative that you understand how it should be used. This book will help you do just that. It takes you through the most important constitutional clauses and principles, and explains what they mean through the words of those who wrote and ratified the document. As James Madison said, “In that sense alone it is the legitimate Constitution.”

The Constitution is far from perfect. And the American system has drifted 1 million miles from the founding principles that serve as the foundation of the document. By using the Constitution and nullification to undermine overreaching federal authority, perhaps we can push the United States back toward the more decentralized system that the founding document established, with most authority and power at the state and local level instead of in a monopoly government centered in Washington D.C.

Constitution – Owner’s Manual is available in paperback and Kindel editions, and you can even get a signed copy. You’ll find all of the options at ConstitutionOwnersManual.com.

The likely temporary Israel-Iran ceasefire notwithstanding, if you need proof of how despicable Donald Trump is, consider this: When asked last week if he would ask Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to stop bombing Iran, which had already said it would stop retaliating...

Anti-War Blog – The Genocide of Regime Change

There was a study in April, 2024 that showed the IDF attacks between 7th October and 22nd November of 2023 on hospitals, schools and water infrastructure in Gaza were not “random.” The IDF response to the 7th October terrorist attack was absolute. Revenge on a people....
