US News

  • Seventy-four percent of Americans are concerned about losing freedoms due to coronavirus. [Link]
  • The Pentagon is planning to insert bailouts for weapons makers in the next stimulus bill. [Link]
  • During a US-South Korea dispute over how much South Korea should pay to have US troops deployed to South Korea, the US is drawing up plans to reduce the number of troops in South Korea. [Link]

Afghanistan

  • The Taliban carried out a series of attacks in Afghanistan that killed several Afghan security forces and nine civilians. [Link]

Middle East 

  • The US says it is very concerned by the steps Turkey is taking to activate the S-400 air defense system that is made by Russia. [Link]
  • Netanyahu and his political rival Bernie Gantz signed an agreement to allow Netanyahu to remain Prime Minister for the next 18 months. Gantz will sit as Defense Minister until it is his turn to take over a Prime Minister. The agreement also calls for the beginning to annex some areas of the West Bank. [Link]
  • The Syrian government reports its air defense downed an Israeli aircraft that was bombing a Syrian city. [Link]

Africa 

  • Human Rights Watch says Burkina Faso security forces executed 31 unarmed detainees. [Link]
