US News

  • The US national debt is now over $26 trillion. The US has added $2 trillion to the debt in about two months. [Link]
  • The Pentagon will give a $135 million bailout five defense companies. [Link]
  • The Senate Judiciary Committee voted to issue subpoenas in the Crossfire Hurricane inquiry. There will be 53 subpoenas issued. The list includes Brennan, Clapper, and Comey. [Link]
  • Senator Rand Paul introduces a bill that will ban no-knock raids nationwide. [Link]
  • The Senate-proposed National Defense Authorization Act includes $6 billion to counter China, a rule that prevents the president from deploying the military against protesters, and a requirement to change the name of some bases that date back to the Civil War. [Link]
  • House Republicans are proposing a law that allows the president to declare war against any group on the Foreign Terrorist Organizations list. The Executive Branch is able to add groups to the list. [Link]
