  • The FBI says it is looking at one person who sprayed an irritant into the face of Capitol police officer Brian Sicknick before he died the next day. The FBI is investigating the incident as an assault. [Link]
  • Minneapolis city council approved $1.18 million in a dispel disinformation during the Derek Chauvin trial. Six social media influencers will receive $2,000 to put out messages approved by the city. [Link]
  • Biden’s team wants to charge journalists $170 for a Covid test every time a journalist comes to the White House. [Link]
  • Biden says he is in no rush to lift sanctions on Venezuela. [Link]

Myanmar 

  • The UN says 18 people were killed when the Myanmar army opened fire on protesters. [Link]

Afghanistan

  • The special investigator for the Afghan War finds the US wasted $2.4 billion on capital assets. [Link]
  • The US Envoy to Afghanistan, Zalmay Khalilzad, traveled to Afghanistan to meet with the government and will travel to Qatar. The purpose of Khalilzad’s trip is to accelerate the peace process. [Link]

Syria 

  • Israeli officials said that Israel is highly pleased with Biden’s bombing of Syria. [Link]
  • Biden tells Congress the bombing in Syria was “self-defense.” [Link]
  • Syria intercepted Israeli missiles over Damascus. [Link]

Israel

  • Israel plans to start vaccinating Palestinians who work in Israel. [Link]
  • Israel claims Iran was behind an explosion on an Israeli ship in the Gulf of Oman. Iran denies it was behind the attack. [Link]
  • The UAE’s first Ambassador to Israel has arrived at his post. [Link]
