Great Power

  • Ukraine’s president says his country is ready for war and signed a bill calling up reservists. [Link]
  • Russia has ordered its forces back to their home bases. The troop movement takes forces away from the border with Ukraine. [Link]
  • The US Ambassador to Belarus met with a member of the country’s opposition. The ambassador is yet to enter Belarus. [Link]
  • The US and China are increasing military activity in the South China Sea. [Link]
  • The head of STRATCOM calls for upgraded nuclear weapons to combat China. [Link]

Korea

  • The US is considering a proposal from South Korea to officially end the Korean War. [Link]

Afghanistan

  • The War in Afghanistan cost the US at least $2.26 trillion. [Link]
  • The US has started to remove some equipment from Afghanistan and end some local contracts. [Link]
