US News

  • Mike Treacy details some of the “crimes” people were issued tickets for during the covid lockdowns. Some of the reasons were as benign as hanging out and sitting in the park. [Link]
  • A police dog found drugs every time it was brought to check a car. Other dogs have huge rates of wrongfully indicating drugs are in the car. [Link]
  • A man carried his murdered daughter’s ashes in his car. When he was pulled over by police they tested the ashes for drugs, which came back positive. The cops dumped the ashes on the side of the road. [Link]
  • Colonial Pipeline paid hackers a $5 million ransom to get the pipeline back on. [Link]
  • Rep. Liz Cheney, who recently was voted out of her leadership role, says that it is a red line if the military budget doesn’t increase by 3-5%. [Link]

Afghanistan

  • The US turned over control of Kandahar AirField to the Afghan government. [Link]
  • In Afghanistan, 12 people were killed in a mosque bombing. [Link]
  • The death toll from the attack on the girl’s school in Kabul increased to 94. [Link]

Israel

  • Biden says the bombing of Gaza isn’t a significant overreaction. [Link]
  • The death toll in Gaza has increased to 113, including 31 children. [Link]
  • Israel reports three rockets were fired from Lebanon into Israel but caused no casualties. [Link]
