The ‘Jamming’ of Trump on Afghanistan Has Already Begun

by | Feb 9, 2017

Really it started in January when they sent 300 Marines back to Helmand Province just before Trump’s inauguration. Who knows if Obama was even consulted.

Today Gen. Nicholson told the Senate Armed Services Committee he needs “thousands,” more “advise and assist” troops to embed with the Afghan National Army.

They’re not pushing for a whole new bogus COIN surge yet, but this may be just the first step. Weak loser Obama just rolled right over for Petraeus and the gang back in 2009. Trump is either going to prove how tough he is by escalating even faster, or is going to resent being boxed in and push back against them.

My bet is on the former. And America’s longest foreign war rolls on toward the 2020s.
