  • Since 2014 the US has added 547,000 food service and bartending jobs. During that period, 36,000 manufacturing jobs have been lost. [Link]
  • Chelsea Manning attempted suicide last month. Manning was serving a punishment in solitary confinement at the time. This is her second attempted suicide. [Link]
  • Leaders of the prisoners strike in Alabama are being placed in torture-like conditions. Those conditions include being placed in solitary confinement cells without running water. [Link]
  • President Obama commutes the sentences of 72 prisoners. Obama has targeted those who landed in jail as a part of the war on drugs. [Link]
  • Eight were killed in a car bomb attack in Turkey. The attack occurred near a police station, and police officers were killed along with civilians. The attack happened shortly after Turkish President Erdogan had Members of Parliment belonging to a Kurdish political party arrested. [Link]
  • Civilians were fleeing ISIS when a bomb exploded killing 12. The bomb was believed to be detonated by ISIS. [Link]
  • Russia allowed its 17 days ceasefire for Aleppo to expire on Friday. Civilian expect that Russia will now resume bombing rebel-held Aleppo. [Link]
  • A BBC article tells the story of Abdullah al-Ibbi, who lost 27 members of his family when a Saudi airstrike destroyed his home. [Link]
  • Security forces in Jordan killed three US military trainers. The vehicle military trainers were traveling in was fired on when they failed to stop at a checkpoint. [Link]
