  • The Washington Post wrote a fake story about Russia having hacked the American power grid. The Post changed it story several times, but the article still included incorrect information and a misleading headline. [Link]
  • This article looks into the evidence in the DHS/FBI Russian hacking report. The writer finds the evidence is lacking in proving Russia was behind the attacks. [Link]
  • The EPA is looking at marking a large region of Alaska noncompliant under the Clean Air Act for burning wood for heat. This would have large economic consequences for the region. [Link]
  • United States police officers killed 1068 people in 2016. 149 of those killed were unarmed. [Link]
  • The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for a terrorist attack at a Turkish nightclub that killed 39 people. The attack occurred when a gunman opened fire in the club. The gunman is still at large. [Link]
  • Saudi Arabia carried out 153 executions in 2016. This is down from 158 in 2015. [Link]
  • An Iraqi Commander says that Iraqi forces now control more than half of East Mosul. [Link]
  • At least 29 have been killed in multiple ISIS terror attacks on Baghdad. [Link]
  • Over 52,000 people were killed in Iraq in 2016. This includes more than 9,000 civilians. [Link]
  • Syrian civilians are fleeing an area near Damascus as the Syrian government targets the al-Qaeda linked group in the area. [Link]
  • The Syrian rebels are threatening to withdraw from the ceasefire because the Syrian government is bombing an al-Qaeda linked group. The group in question is the al-Nusra Front that recently changed its name to al-Sham. The group’s new name is not on the UN list of terrorist groups, so Syrian rebels argue that they are a part of the ceasefire. [Link]
  • At least 5 members of a Yemeni family are dead after Saudi Arabia dropped two bombs on their home. [Link]
