  • Obama gives the City of Chicago a grant for $1.1 billion to improve its rapid transit system. [Link]
  • Police arrest a man after they mistake kitty litter for meth. Ross LeBeau was arrested and jailed for three days before police realized the mistake they made. The police also put out a press released with Ross’s photo claiming he was transporting a half pound of meth. [Link]
  • Only 5% of the 17,000 people on the Georiga sex offenders list are clearly dangerous. That list includes Shawna, who is a married mother of three. Shawna was convicted of a felony and put on the sex offenders list for life when she was 19. She got drunk and had sex with a younger teenager. Being on the sex offenders list prevents her from going to the park with her children. [Link]
  • The Pentagon plans to conduct more war games in Europe to deter Russian aggression. [Link]
  • Senator Ted Cruz and Texas Governor Greg Abbott will meet with Taiwan’s President as she passes through the US. [Link]
  • A panel of French judges decided not to bring charges against UN Peacekeepers who were accused of abusing children in the Central African Republic. [Link]
  • 200 NATO troops will deploy to the Farah Providence in Afghanistan. [Link]
  • Iraqi forces have reached the Northed edge of the Western half of Mosul. The troops are facing heavy resistance from ISIS. ISIS is using a strategy of allowing Iraqi troops to take a small area than attacking them from all sides. [Link]
  • Fighting along the coast of the Red Sea in Yemen leaves 68 dead. Most of the dead are Houthi as they try to defend the city from pro-government forces. [Link]
