  • Bob Corker says he will block all weapons sales to GCC countries until the dispute between Qatar and Saudi Arabia is resolved. [Link]
  • The NDAA will require President Trump to submit a plan for Afghanistan and Syria. [Link]
  • Trump says North Korea must be dealt with rapidly. [Link]
  • The collision between a USS Destroyer and cargo ship could have been avoided. According to the captain of the cargo ship, the USS Destroyer ignored warnings. [Link]
  • Japanese airbag maker Takata has filed for bankruptcy. [Link]
  • 230 Afghanis were killed and over 800 injured in terror attacks during Ramadan. [Link]
  • Ten Afghani police were killed in an attack by the Taliban. [Link]
  • An ISIS sleeper cell attacked in a liberated area of Mosul. The attacking ISIS fighter burned houses and caused 100s to flee. 15 ISIS fighters and several civilians were killed. [Link]
  • Col. Larry Wilkerson argues that Iraqi Sunnis will prevent the Damascus-Baghdad highway from existing. [Link]
  • The Syrian government says Israeli airstrikes killed Syrian civilians. [Link]
  • The Assad government released 672 detainees. Some of the detainees were supports of the rebels. [Link]
  • The US claims the Assad government is planning another chemical weapons attack. The US still claims that the April 4th chemical weapons attack was carried out by Assad. Assad has denied he is planning a chemical weapons attack. Nikki Haley Tweeted that all future attacks against the people of Syria will be blamed on Assad. [Link]

On Foreign Policy Focus #58, I look at two articles debunking Syrian lies. One article is by Seymour Hersh and looks at the April 4th chemical attack in Syria. Hersh proves the Assad did not gas his people. The other article is by Gareth Porter. Porter shows the US armed the Jihadist Syrian Rebels. I also update Yemen, Qatar, Russia, Iraq, and Pakistan.
