The Kyle Anzalone Show: Trump Prepares for a MORE War With Iran

“Only because I wanted to go further.” That single line from Donald Trump’s Time magazine interview changes how you should read the entire Iran war timeline. I’m solo today, digging into the most relevant sections of the interview and separating performative victory claims from what the conflict actually looks like on the ground and in the policy choices coming out of Washington. If the plan keeps shifting midstream, the danger isn’t just mission creep, it’s a leadership structure that can’t tell the truth about costs, objectives, or end states.

We also rewind the clock on the 2015 Iran nuclear deal (JCPOA) to explain what Iran already conceded, why IAEA inspections matter, and why “get a better deal” politics can push negotiations into a dead end. I cover reporting that Iran has floated letting inspectors back into nuclear sites, and why that should be treated as a serious opening instead of dismissed for not meeting ever-expanding demands tied to regional alliances. This is the kind of detail the mainstream conversation often skips, even though it’s exactly where escalation or de-escalation gets decided.

Then we connect foreign policy to the numbers people see every day: gasoline and diesel prices, shipping costs, and inflation at the store. I break down reports that the US is pressuring the European Union to release massive amounts from strategic reserves and threatening export bans, effectively flirting with a trade fight while allies are already strained by the Iran war and the Ukraine war. We also look at the RAF Fairford arrests and why the rush to pin it on Iran deserves real skepticism, before closing with Russia’s warnings about NATO, Kaliningrad, and the risks of treating signals as empty threats.

If you want more clear, fact-driven coverage of Iran, energy politics, and NATO escalation risk, subscribe for new episodes, share this one with a friend, and leave a review so more people can find the show.
