US News

  • DHS will waive contract requirements when accepting bids to build Trump’s wall. [Link]
  • Trump’s budget proposal includes nearly $600,000 to establish a permanent diplomatic presence in Greenland. [Link]
  • Assange’s lawyer says he was offered a pardon from Trump in exchange for saying Russia had nothing to do with Hillary Clinton’s emails being leaked. The pardon offer was relayed to Assange by Dana Rohrabacher in 2017. The White House denies the claim. [Link]

Afghanistan

  • The second-place finisher in Afghanistan’s election, Abdullah Abdullah, is claiming to have won and is attempting to form a government. [Link]

Middle East

  • Israel’s separation wall has separated a man from the rest of his village. He must now access his home through a tunnel, but get permission from Israel first. [Link]
  • An audit reveals the Pentagon did not track $715 million in weapons and equipment provided to anti-ISIS forces in Syria. [Link]
  • A US military vehicle ran a Russian vehicle off the road in Syria. [Link]
  • Six Yemeni soldiers were killed when their convoy hit a landmine. The convoy was escorting Yemen’s defense minister. The defense minister escaped unharmed. [Link]

Somalia 

  • Al-Shabaab killed 12 soldiers and looted a Somali Army military base outside of Mogadishu. The militants stole two anti-aircraft systems mounted onto pickup trucks. [Link]
