  • US officials say North Korea has been unresponsive to US backchannel communication attempts. [Link]

  • Russia says it will respond if the US deploys missiles to Japan. [Link]
  • Politico reports Biden is preparing new sanctions targeting the Nord Stream 2 pipeline. The pipeline will bring natural gas from Russia to Germany. [Link]
  • The military is spending hundreds of millions to buy more anti-ship missiles to combat China. [Link]
  • The FCC labeled five Chinese companies as “threats to national security.” [Link]

Myanmar

  • Local reports say Myanmar security forces killed 38 protesters. [Link]

Yemen

  • The US Envoy to Yemen says the US offered a ceasefire deal to the Houthi. [Link]
  • Initially it appeared the Houthi rejected the US offer but Houthi leadership says they are not dismissing the proposal. [Link]
  • Yemen’s Houthi hit a school that was stationing Saudi backed forces. Fifteen soldiers and three children were killed. [Link]
