Russiagate

  • Senator Rand Paul says a high-level source revealed to him that John Brennan insisted on putting the Steele Dossier in the Intelligence Assessment. [Link]
  • A new poll finds 48% of Americans still believe Trump colluded with Russia to influence the 2016 election. Only 9% of Americans had their minds changed by the Mueller probe ending without indictments and Attorney General Barr’s summary of the Mueller report. [Link]
  • David Stockman explains how the media exploited a story about Russians lobbying for the repeal of the Magnitsky Act to further the Russiagate narrative.  [Link]

Immigration

  • The House fails to override Trump’s veto of a bill that repeals his National Emergency to build a border wall. [Link]

Afghanistan

  • A joint US and Afghan Army operation killed five Afghan civilians. [Link]
  • US officials left a meeting with the Afghan-NATO Envoy because the Afghan National Security Adviser attended the meeting. [Link]
  • The UN finds that part of the record number of civilian casualties in Afghanistan is because of an increase in US airstrikes. [Link]

Israel

  • Israeli forces clashed with Palestinians in the West Bank. In one protest, Palestinian students took to the street with ‘firebombs’ and rocks after their school was hit by an Israeli airstrike. Three of the student protesters were hit with rubber-coated steel bullets, and no Israeli soldiers were injured. In a separate event, Israeli soldiers killed a Palestinian.  [Link]
  • Fighting between Israel and Hamas restarted Tuesday night. Reports claim two rockets from Gaza were fired into Israel sparking a response from Israel. [Link] An Egyptian brokered ceasefire now appears to be holding. [Link]

Yemen

  • Activists group warn the House GOP may vote to recommit the Yemen War Powers bill to strip the bill of its privilege. This happened to the first Yemen War Powers bill, and now the House has to revote on the bill next week.  [Link]
  • Five UK Special Operations soldiers were injured in Yemen. The UK government has insisted – throughout the war – they are not in combat in Yemen. [Link]
  • A Saudi airstrike in Yemen kills at least seven civilians, including two children. The strike nearly hit a Save the Children hospital. [Link]
  • Al Jazeera uses interactive reporting to show 19,000 coalition air raids in Yemen. [Link]
