US News

Ukraine

  • The British Defense Ministry backed the Ukrainian claim that Ukrainian forces sunk a Russian tugboat with US-made Harpoon missiles. [Link]
  • German self-propelled howitzers arrived in Ukraine in the first delivery of heavy weapons. [Link]
  • In the latest high-level US visit to Ukraine, Attorney General Merrick Garland made an appearance in the country on Tuesday and pledged US support for investigating alleged Russian war crimes. [Link]
  • The State Department announced that Stephen Zabielski, an American citizen, died while fighting in Ukraine, but refused to provide further information about the exact circumstances of his death. [Link]

  • A member of the U.S. Air Force was arrested in connection with an attack on an American base in Syria. The explosion injured four U.S. personnel in eastern Syria. [Link]
  • Lebanon, Syria and Egypt on Tuesday agreed to ship 650 million cubic meters of natural gas per year from Egypt to Lebanon via Syria. [Link]

Congo

  • East African leaders meeting in Kenya have agreed to deploy a Kenya-led regional security force to stop the conflict in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). [Link]
