US News

North Korea

  • North Korea tests short-range missiles. Trump said the tests did not violate any agreements and is still open to talks. [Link]

Iran

  • The US sanctioned Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif. [Link]

  • Shell says it will not use UK flagged ships in the Strait of Hormuz. [Link]

Middle East

  • The number of Afghan security forces dropped ten percent in the past quarter. The drop corresponds with a crackdown in Afghan ‘ghost soldiers.’ [Link]
  • Seven members of Iraqi security forces were killed in two suicide bombings. The bombings are blamed on IS. [Link]
  • The Syria Army made more advances against the rebels in Idlib. Syria announced a ceasefire with the rebels. [Link]
  • The Houthi used drones and missiles to attack a military parade in Aden, killing 36 people. A separate car bombing killed 13 people. The Yemeni government blames Iran for both attacks. The Houthi are behind the attack on the military parade, and al-Qaeda has carried out car bombings in the past. [Link]
