Afghanistan
- CIA Director Bill Burns, traveled to Afghanistan to meet with Taliban leader Baradar. [Link]
- One member of Afghan forces was killed and several others were injured in a firefight outside of Kabul Airport. It is unclear who the firefight was with and the Pentagon reports no Americans were injured. [Link]

Middle East
- Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett will travel to the US to present a new plan on confronting Iran. [Link]
- Israel bombed Gaza claiming it was a response to fire balloons that set brush fires in southern Israel. [Link]
- Fighting between the Syrian opposition and government forces continues in the Daara region. [Link]
- In central Yemen, at least 66 people were killed in fighting over the weekend. Saudi Arabia carried out over two dozen airstrikes in Yemen. [Link]
Africa
- The US sanctioned the head of Eritrea’s defense forces for human rights abuses in Tigray, Ethiopia. [Link]
- Militants attacked a Nigerian army training center. Two soldiers were killed and a third was kidnapped. [Link]
- Several were killed in a battle between al-Shabaab and the Somali army. Al-Shabaab attacked the city of Amara and seized several armored vehicles. [Link]
