  • Japan selects Yoshihide Suga to be the next Prime Minister. Suga was a right-hand man to former PM Abe. Suga’s new cabinet will include half of Abe’s cabinet. [Link]

  • The Taliban negotiators say they are not seeking to seize power. [Link]
  • Palestinian militants fired rockets into Israel at the same time Israel was signing agreements with the UAE and Bahrain. Two people were wounded by the rockets. [Link]
