US News

  • YouTube suspended the German RT YouTube channel claiming it was pushing covid misinformation. A German RT host then started a new channel to get around the suspension. YouTube then deleted both channels. [Link]
  • After voting against $1 billion in additional military aid for Israel, the Israel lobby attacked Rep. Thomas Massie. [Link]

France

  • France signed a deal with Greece to sell warships. France says it is looking to be more independent after the AUKUS agreement. [Link]

North Korea

  • North Korea claims to have tested a hypersonic missile. [Link]

Afghanistan

  • The Department of Homeland Security denied a charter flight into the US carrying 100 Americans or American green-card holders. [Link]
  • Generals Milley and McKenzie tell Congress they advised Biden to keep troops in Afghanistan. [Link]
  • The Taliban demand the US stop flying drones in Afghanistan. [Link]
  • Even after admitting the US killed 10 civilians in the August 29th drone strike, the Pentagon doubled down on the claim that the target visited an ISIS-K safe house. The NYT reports the safe house was just a family home. [Link]

Africa

  • Over 80 aid workers were identified as sexually exploiting women during the ebola outbreak in the Congo. Women report the men refused to use condoms then forced them to abort the children. At least 20 of the rapists worked for the WHO. [Link]
  • Just two months after the US transferred Nigeria six warplanes, the Nigerian airforce killed as many as 60 civilians in an air raid. [Link]
  • Sudan reports five members of its intelligence service were killed in a raid against an ISIS cell. [Link]
